Preparation of Degradable Antiwaxing Coating and a Novel Method for Quantifying Antiwaxing Property of Coatings.

ABSTRACT: The deposition of wax on the surface of the pipeline or the facilities is harmful to oil industries, which can cause serious safety problems and economic loss. To address this problem, a degradable glutinous rice/chitosan-phytic acid composite coating (GR/CS-PA) was prepared. The GR can serve as an adhesive, and it can also enhance the flexibility of CS-PA. The CS-PA component can be used to retain water to prevent the adhesion of crude oil and enhance the mechanical properties of the antiwaxing layer. With the hydration layer on the surface of the GR/CS-PA coating, which can prevent contact between the pollutants and the GR/CS-PA, the coating possesses excellent antifouling properties, especially excellent antiwaxing performance.
