Bis[3,5-di-fluoro-2-(pyridin-2-yl)phen-yl](4,4'-di-meth-oxy-2,2'-bi-pyridine)-iridium(III) hexa-fluorido-phosphate.

ABSTRACT: The title cyclo-metalated distorted octa-hedral iridium complex, [Ir(C₁₁H₆F₂N)₂(C₁₂H₁₂N₂O₂)]PF₆, exhibits elongated Ir-N bonds to the dimeth-oxy bi-pyridine ligand [2.128 (3) and 2.136 (3) Å] where these nitro-gen atoms are trans to the Ir-C bonds of the two cyclo-metalating di-fluoro-phenyl-pyridine ligands. The angles between the mean planes of the phenyl and pyridyl fragments within the individual ligands range from 3.5 (2) to 11.4 (2)° to deviate slightly from coplanarity.

Project description:The title dinuclear complex mol-ecule, [Cu2(C13H9N4)2(PF6)2], lies about an inversion center. The Cu(II) atom shows a square-pyramidal coordination geometry with the basal plane formed by four N atoms of the two bis-chelating 3,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazolate ions and with one F atom of the hexa-fluoro-phosphate ion in the apical position. Mol-ecules are stacked in a column along the a axis through C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds. The columns are further linked by other C-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound [Co(C22H26N4O4)]PF6, commonly known as [Co(bpcd)]PF6, where bpcd(2-) is derived from the historical ligand name N,N'-bis-(2-pyridyl-meth-yl)-trans-1,2-di-amino-cyclo-hexane-N,N'-di-acetate, crystallized by slow evaporation of a saturated aceto-nitrile solution in air. The cation of the hexa-fluorido-phosphate salt has the Co(III) atom in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by an N4O2 donor atom set. The acetate groups, which are oriented trans with respect to each other, exhibit monodentate coordination whereas the pyridyl N atoms are coordinating in a cis configuration. The geometry of the cation is compared to the geometries of other di-amino di-acetate complexes with Co(III).

Project description:The crystal structures of two inter-mediates, 4-amino-3,5-di-fluoro-benzo-nitrile, C7H4F2N2 (I), and ethyl 4-amino-3,5-di-fluoro-benzoate, C9H9F2NO2 (II), along with a visible-light-responsive azo-benzene derivative, diethyl 4,4'-(diazene-1,2-di-yl)bis-(3,5-di-fluoro-benzoate), C18H14F4N2O4 (III), obtained by four-step synthetic procedure, were studied using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The mol-ecules of I and II demonstrate the quinoid character of phenyl rings accompanied by the distortion of bond angles related to the presence of fluorine substituents in the 3 and 5 (ortho) positions. In the crystals of I and II, the mol-ecules are connected by N-H⋯N, N-H⋯F and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯F short contacts, and π-stacking inter-actions. In crystal of III, only stacking inter-actions between the mol-ecules are found.

Project description:The title compounds, [Ir(C14H12N2)(C11H8N)2]PF6 (1) and [Ir(C14H12N2)(C12H10N)2]PF6·0.61C2H10O·0.78CH3CN (2), crystallize in the space groups Pbca and P1, respectively, each structure containing one monocationic Ir complex and one PF6 - anion in the asymmetric unit. The anion and solvent in compound 2 are disordered. The Ir-N(phenanthroline) bond lengths of ca. 2.21 Å indicate a greater steric effect of the 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand compared to 1,10-phenanthroline. Both structures show offset parallel inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the phenanthroline ligands, and that of 1 also exhibits similar inter-actions between the phenyl and pyridine rings of the phenyl-pyridine ligands.

Project description:The crystal structures of bis-{3,5-di-fluoro-2-[4-(2,4,6-tri-methyl-phen-yl)pyridin-2-yl]phenyl-κ2 N,C 1}(picolinato-κ2 N,O)iridium(III), [Ir(C20H16F2N)2(C6H4NO2)], 1, and bis-[2-(4-tert-butyl-pyridin-2-yl)-3,5-di-fluoro-phenyl-κ2 N,C 1](picolinato-κ2 N,O)iridium(III), [Ir(C15H14F2N)2(C6H4NO2)], 2, are presented herein. These phospho-rescent cyclo-metallated iridium(III) compounds have been structurally investigated in order to better understand the nature of their blue-shifted emssions while maintaining high quantum yields. Compound 1 exhibits substantial twisting of the mesitylene rings out of the plane of the attached pyridine ring, with dihedral angles of 67.0 (1) and 78.7 (1)° between the best mean planes. For both compounds, the contribution of disordered solvent mol-ecule(s) was removed using the SQUEEZE [Spek (2015 ▸). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18] routine in PLATON [Spek (2015 ▸). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18]. Project description:In the title compound, [Ru(C(5)H(4)NO)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]PF(6)·0.5C(6)H(6), the Ru(2+) cation has a distorted octa-hedral RuN(5)O coordination environment. This complex is more distorted than the closely related ruthenium complex containing a pyridine-2-thiol-ate ligand [Santra et al. (1997 ▶). J. Chem. Soc. Dalton Trans. pp. 1387-1393]. The distortion is caused by the difference in size between the O and S atoms. The benzene solvent mol-ecule is situated on a twofold rotation axis.

Inter-molecular C-H⋯F, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal structure.
