Mutations and fusions of <i>RET</i> (rearranged during transfection) gene are detected in a few common types of tumors including thyroid or non-small cells lung cancers. Multiple kinase inhibitors (MKIs) do not show spectacular effectiveness in patients with <i>RET</i>-altered tumors.
