The Myo-Inositol-1-phosphate synthase (MIPS) gene family is involved in the myo-inositol synthesis and plays a significant role in signal transduction, membrane biogenesis, oligosaccharides synthesis, auxin storage and transport, programmed cell death and abiotic stress tolerance in plants.
