Clinical studies of cancer patients have shown that overexpression or amplification of thymidylate synthase (TS) correlates with a worse clinical outcome. We previously showed that elevated TS exhibits properties of an oncogene and promotes pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs) with a long latency.
