Gynecologic emergencies may result from congenital uterine anomalies (CUAs) with outflow tract obstruction. Not limited to the "classic" presentation of an adolescent amenorrheic pain patient, such anomalies should be part of the differential diagnosis for adult female patients presenting with severe pelvic pain.
