ABSTRACT: The present study investigated how abnormal expression of hyaluronan-mediated mobility receptor (HMMR) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tissue affects the growth of RCC cells and the association between expression of HMMR and pathological staging and prognosis of patients with RCC. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR was used to measure the expression of HMMR mRNA in RCC tissue and cell lines. For the prediction of HMMR gene expression, The Cancer Genome Atlas online database was utilized to compare differential gene expression of HMMR in normal renal and RCC tissue. Cell Counting Kit-8 assay was used to examine cell proliferation. The expression of HMMR increased in RCC tissue and renal cancer cell lines. The expression of HMMR was an independent prognostic factor for 5-year and disease-f
