Hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP<sub>2</sub>) by phospholipase C-γ (PLCγ1) represents a critical step in T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling and subsequent thymocyte and T cell responses.
