Chimena gen. nov., a new spider genus (Araneae, Mysmenidae) from China, with descriptions of two new species and a new combination.

ABSTRACT: A new mysmenid genus, Chimena gen. nov., is reported from China. Two new species: C.qiong sp. nov. (Hainan, ♂♀, the type species) and C.nantou sp. nov. (Taiwan, ♀) are illustrated and described in detail. A new combination is suggested: Chimenataiwanica (Ono, 2007) comb. nov. (Taiwan, ♂♀, transferred from Mysmena Simon, 1894). The molecular phylogeny and morphological characters were used to discuss the taxonomy and circumscription of the newly erected genus.

Project description:Mutatus gen. nov. is described from southwest China, including four new species: M.gelao sp. nov. (♂♀, Guizhou Province), M.tianyan sp. nov. (♂♀, Hubei Province), M.tujia sp. nov. (♂♀, Hubei Province), and M.yintiaoling sp. nov. (♂, Chongqing Municipality). This new genus can be differentiated from other phrurolithid genera by the male palp which has a prolateral tegular apophysis and tegular sheet, and by a small protuberance on the female epigynal plate.

Project description:A new genus of the subfamily Coelotinae F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1893, Yunguiriusgen. nov. is described, comprising two new species and three species previously described in Draconarius Ovtchinnikov, 1999, all from southwest China: Y.duogesp. nov. (♀), Y.xiangdingsp. nov. (♀), Y.ornatus (Wang, Yin, Peng & Xie, 1990) comb. nov. (♂♀) (the type species of Yunguiriusgen. nov.), Y.subterebratus (Zhang, Zhu & Wang, 2017) comb. nov. Project description:The genus Chthonopes Wunderlich, 2011 is reviewed in this paper. The type species Chthonopesjaegeri Wunderlich, 2011 was illustrated based on new material from the type locality and the new distribution records (Bolikhamsay and Ban Kouanphavang Khammouane, Laos). Two new species are described from Yunnan, China: C.bifidum Yu & Lin, sp. nov. (♂♀) and C.jimudeng Yu & Lin, sp. nov. (♀). A key is provided for the genus, as well as species diagnoses, and a distribution map for all five species of Chthonopes.

Project description:A new genus of the spider family Deinopidae C.L. Koch, 1850 is described from Asia: Asianopis Lin & Li gen. nov., with A. zhuanghaoyuni Lin & Li sp. nov. as the type species. The new genus is divided into two species groups, of which the liukuensis-group includes two species: A. dumogae (Merian, 1911) sp. reval. comb. nov. (♀) and A. liukuensis (Yin, Griswold & Yan, 2002) comb. nov. (♂♀); and the zhuanghaoyuni-group comprises five species: A. celebensis (Merian, 1911) comb. nov. (♂), A. konplong (Logunov, 2018) comb. nov. (♂), A. wangi Lin & Li sp. nov. (♂♀), A. wuchaoi Lin & Li sp. nov. (♂♀), and A. zhuanghaoyuni Lin & Li sp. nov. Callosa gen. n., a new troglobitic genus from southwest China (Araneae, Linyphiidae).

Project description:A new linyphiid genus Callosagen. n., with two new species Callosa ciliatasp. n. (♂♀, type species) and Callosa baiseensissp. n. (♂♀), from southwest China are described. Detailed description of genitalic characters and somatic features is provided, as well as light microscopy and SEM micrographs of each species. Callosagen. n. was found in caves in Yunnan and Guangxi, and its copulatory organs are similar to those of Bathyphantes and Porrhomma, but differ greatly in details. The monophyly and placement of Callosagen. n. are supported by the results of molecular analysis.
