Zearalenone (ZEN) is a non-steroidal estrogenic mycotoxin produced by the fungi of the <i>Fusarium</i> genera, and is a contaminant of cereals and plant products. ZEN and its metabolites are considered endocrine disruptors, and could have various toxic effects on animals and humans.
