An immunosuppressive tumour microenvironment is a major obstacle in the control of pancreatic and other solid cancers<sup>1-3</sup>. Agonists of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) protein trigger inflammatory innate immune responses to potentially overcome tumour immunosuppression<sup>4</sup>.
