Mechanism of Aspirin oxidative stress regulating interleukin-induced apoptosis in nucleus pulposus cells in a rat model of intervertebral disc degeneration.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is an important cause of low back pain. Increase of reactive oxygen species (ROS), overexpression of inflammatory factors, and loss of extracellular matrix are important factors in the pathological changes of IDD. The present study aimed to investigate the mechanism of action of Aspirin regulating oxidative stress in IDD, so as to propose new treatment.

Methods

Nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) were isolated from the caudal intervertebral discs of Sprague Dawley (SD) rats under sterile conditions. The expression of ROS and inflammatory factors was detected sequentially, and the degree of degeneration of nucleus pulposus cells was observed by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and cell immunofluore
