Effects of decoction of Angelica Sinensis, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, and mutton on physiology and biochemistry of Sprague Dawley female rats with spleen-kidney Yang deficiency.

ABSTRACT:

Background

To examine the effects of each dose of decoction of Angelica sinensis (Dang gui), Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Sheng jiang), and mutton (DAZM) on the physiological and biochemical indexes of female rats with spleen-kidney Yang deficiency (SKYD) through 30-day feeding of DAZM, and to evaluate the tonifying effect of DAZM combined with the system of benefit damage index-general score (BDI-GS).

Methods

Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were administered adenine and senna water to establish a SKYD model. The rats were then allocated to 4 groups at random: Model group, and L group, 4.2 g/kg, M group, 8.4 g/kg and H group, 16.8 g/kg. In addition, the group of normal feeding with unlimited diet was set as N group. Blood samples were taken to detect the relevant physio
