In this study, thirteen phthalimide derivatives were designed and synthesized. All synthesized compounds were evaluated to determine their potential for inhibitory activities against females of the Caribbean fruit fly, <i>Anastrepha suspensa</i> (Loew) (Diptera: Tephritidae).
