Nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (Nampt) is the rate-limiting enzyme in the salvage pathway of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) biosynthesis. Thus far, hepatic Nampt has not been extensively explored in terms of its effects on serum lipid stability and liver lipids metabolism.
