To investigate the regulatory functions of L-arginine and nitric oxide (NO) on <i>Mytilus coruscus</i> metamorphosis, <i>M. coruscus</i> larvae were exposed to an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), aminoguanidine hemisulfate (AGH), and a substrate for NO synthesis, L-arginine. We observed that NO levels showed a significant increase, and this trend continued with L-arginine treatment.
