Enzymes undergo dynamic conformational changes during catalysis, yet conventional high-resolution structural methods typically capture only the most stable states. Here, we address this gap using rapid UV photolysis of a chemically caged substrate with cryogenic time-resolved electron microscopy (cryo-TREM).
