Oxidized and reduced glutathione levels in HepG2 cells after compound exposure
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We quantified total glutathion (GSH + GSSG) and oxidised glutathion (GSSG) in HepG2 cells after 24 h of compound exposure. This was done using five exposure scenarios: (1) HepG2 cells under standard oxygen conditions (20% O2); (2) HepG2 cells under reduced oxygen conditions (3% O2); (3) maturated HepG2 cells receiving acute exposure; (4) maturated HepG2 cells receiving repeated exposure; (5) maturated HepG2 cells receiving repeated exposure and recovery. Glutathion was measured after 24 h of exposure to various compounds at multiple concentrations, as well as several controls, using the GSH/GSSG-Glo Assay.
This study was performed as part of the RISK-HUNT3R project and the PARC project.
