Gene-environment interactions in inflammatory bowel disease: microbiota and genes.

ABSTRACT: A recent research workshop gave an update on the genetics of the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. This mini-review summarises the updates of the gene-environmental interactions, especially those outlining the contribution of the gut microbiota to the pathogenesis of IBD.
