Swinging through Life: A Case of a Pendulum Heart.

ABSTRACT: Highlights•Congenital absence of pericardium is a rare defect of which recognition is critical because it can be associated with catastrophic outcomes.•Partial left is more common than right and total bilateral absence.•Pathognomonic features in transthoracic echocardiography are the teardrop-shaped heart.•Left cardiac border straightening and elongation (“Snoopy sign”) on chest x-ray is a classic sign.•Diagnosis can be made using ECG, chest radiography, and echocardiography and confirmed by CT/CMR.
