The complete chloroplast genome of Prunus verecunda, and phylogenetic analysis with amygdaleae species.

ABSTRACT: We assembled complete chloroplast (cp) genome of Prunus verecunda based on Illumina sequencing. The cp genome of P. verecunda is 157,917?bp in length with 129 genes comprising 84 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA ribosomal genes. The overall GC content of cp genome is 36.7%. A maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis revealed that P. verecunda is sister to P. serrulata var. spontanea and P. maximowiczii.

Project description:Prunus conradinae is a flowering cherry species with high ornamental value. In this study, the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of P. conradinae was obtained using a genome skimming approach. The cp genome was 158,019 bp long, with a large single-copy region of 85,910 bp and a small single-copy region of 19,247 bp separated by two inverted repeats of 26,431 bp. It encodes 130 genes, including 85 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and eight ribosomal RNA genes. The phylogenetic analysis indicated that P. conradinae is closely related to the congeners P. maximowiczii, P. takesimensis, P. speciosa, P. serrulata var. spontanea, P. discoidea, and P. matuurai.

Here, we use Illumina paired-end sequencing to obtain the complete chloroplast genome of P. mahaleb. The complete cp genome of P. mahaleb with a size of 157,824?bp in length is a circular molecular genome, including a pair of inverted repeat (IR) region of 26,410?bp each, separated by a large single copy (LSC) region of 85,926?bp and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 19,078?bp. The genome consisted of 129 genes, including 84 protein-codon genes (PCGs), 37 tRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. The GC content of the whole chloroplast genome is 36.7%. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that P. mahaleb was the closest related to P. cerasoides and P. maximowiczii.

In our study, we assembled and characterised the chloroplast (CP) genome of C. jingningensis based on high-throughput Illumina sequencing data. The CP genome is 157,913?bp in length with an overall GC content of 36.7%, and it consists of two inverted repeats of 26,427?bp each, a large single copy of 85,934?bp, and a small single copy of 19,125?bp. The genome harbours 131 genes, including 85 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, eight rRNA genes, and a pseudogene ycf1. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that C. jingningensis is a sister of C. serrulata var. spontanea.

Project description:The complete cp genome of Prunus tangutica is 158,131 bp in length, exhibits a typical quadripartite structural organization, consisting of a large single copy (LSC) region of 86,266 bp, two inverted repeats (IR) regions of 26,389 bp, and a small single copy (SSC) region of 19,087 bp. The cp genome contains 131 complete genes, including 86 protein-coding genes (86 PCGs), 8 ribosomal RNA genes (8 rRNAs), and 37 tRNA genes (37 tRNAs). Most genes occur in a single copy, while 19 genes occur in double, including 4 rRNAs (4.5S, 5S, 16S, and 23S rRNA), 7 tRNAs (trnA-UGC, trnI-GAU, trnL-CAA, trnI-CAU, trnN-GUU, trnR-ACG, and trnV-GAC), and 5 PCGs (rps7, ndhB, ycf2, rpl2 and rpl23). The overall GC content of cp DNA is 36.7%, the corresponding values of the LSC, SSC, and IR regions are 34.6%, 30.1%, and 42.6%, respectively. Further, the phylogenetic analysis suggested that the P. tangutica was closely related to Prunus tenella. The results of P. tangutica will lay a foundation for further research.
