Feasibility of the LUM Imaging System for Detection of Gastrointestinal Cancers

ABSTRACT: The overall goal of this feasibility study is to assess the initial safety and efficacy of LUM015 in ex vivo far-red imaging of colorectal, pancreatic, and esophageal cancers (adenocarcinoma) using the LUM Imaging System.

Analysis of colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue samples by DESI mass spectrometry imaging

Project description:Ex vivo colorectal adenocarcinoma samples were analysed by desorption electrospray ionisation using an Orbitrap mass spectrometer. The samples were analysed in negative mode over the m/z range 600-1000. Some of the samples presented in this dataset were analysed as part of [1]. The study makes available imzML files of profile and centroid mode data, as well as low- and high- resolution optical image files of H&E-stained sections. Desorption electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry imaging of esophageal lymph mode metastases

Project description:Lymph node metastases (LNM) and primary tumour samples were analysed using desorption electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry imaging (DESI MSI). Current assessment of LNM depends on subjective histopathological assessment, whereas analysis by DESI MSI permits an entirely objective assessment. The mass spectral data revealed specific lipidomic patterns across samples, which were shown to correspond to the immunohistochemical image. Statistical prediction of LNM samples was performed using the esophageal adenocarcinoma samples with sensitivity and specificity of 89.5% and 100%, respectively.

Exploring tumor dynamics and responses of prostate cancer to IL-27 based treatment combinations through biodynamic imaging and RNA sequencing analyses

Project description:We use Biodynamic imaging and transcriptomics to study the response of cells to various drugs applied ex-vivo to measure and correlate the intracellular motion as a biomarker of tumor samples therapies. Prostate Cancer has been used as a model in this study. The control and IL-27 treated tumors were exposed to chemo/immunotherapy drugs ex vivo and BDI was used to profile changes in the TME. The integration of these techniques will enable informed decision-making regarding combination treatment strategies for PCa.

Project description:The Lung3 data set consists of 89 NSCLC patients that were treated at MAASTRO Clinic, The Netherlands. For these patients pretreatment CT scans, tumour delineations and gene expression profiles were available. We used this data set to associate imaging features with gene-expression profiles. 89 samples from NSCLC patients. Samples were obtained by biopsies from cancerous tissue. Tumors were classified as Adenocarcinoma, Papillary, NOS; Squamous Cell Carcinoma, NOS; Non-Small Cell; Papillary Type; or Solid Type.
