The investigation of prophylactic clip hemorrhage control for colorectal cold snare polypectomy in patients taking anti-thrombotic drugs.

ABSTRACT: Interventions: Patients who meet the inclusion criteria and do not meet the exclusion criteria are randomly assigned 1:1 to the clip closure group or the non-clip closure group. Hematochezia will be evaluated in a patient diary for 2 weeks after the cold snare polypectomy.;D016430;CSP clip Antithrombotics Primary outcome(s): Percentage of delayed bleeding within 2 weeks after CSP (per patient). Delayed bleeding is defined as hematochezia requiring endoscopic hemostasis within 2 weeks after CSP. Evaluation of Nexpowder Application to Prevent Delayed Bleeding After Colorectal Endoscopic Mucosal Resection

Project description:Delayed bleeding is the most frequent (5 to 15%) and challenging complication after large colorectal polypectomy. Different preventive treatments, such as the prophylactic use of clips, have been tried to prevent the occurrence of delayed bleeding, but to date, no treatment has clearly shown its effectiveness. In addition, preventive hemostasis with clips is difficult and costly. A newly developed endoscopic hemostatic powder generating gelation effect (Nexpowder) may be an effective alternative to prevent post polypectomy bleeding in patients treated by endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for large superficial colorectal lesions.

The Efficacy and Safety of a Hybrid Hemostatic Device (ClearCoajet)

Project description:The ClearCoajet is a new hemostasis device with a hybrid function (Coagulation + Injection) and is developed to provide effective coagulation, injection, and marking around lesions without changing devices during the endoscopic procedure. In this study, the investigators examine the hemostatic effect of ClearCoajet on intraprocedural bleeding during endoscopic mucosal resection or endoscopic submucosal dissection for colorectal sessile polyps or lateral growth tumors larger than 1.5 cm. The investigators also aim to compare the delayed bleeding and recurrence rates between the ClearCoajet group and the control group.

Longitudinal transcriptome profiling of post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome

Project description:Most Lyme disease patients treated with appropriate antibiotics recover rapidly and completely, but a minority of patients develop persistent symptoms correlating with disseminated disease, a greater severity of illness at presentation, and delayed antibiotic therapy. When lingering or recurrent symptoms are associated with a functional decline and persist for greater than 6 months, patients are considered to meet clinical criteria for post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS), although the exact molecular mechanisms underlying this condition remain unknown. We performed longitudinal whole transcriptome sequencing of PTLDS patients' immune cells. No immune mechanism specific to PTLDS were uncovered to date.
