Project description:Genome wide DNA methylation profiling of normal kidney (n=36), nephrogenic rest (n=22) and Wilms tumour (n=37) was performed using the Illumina 450k array. Two papers were composed after analysis of this data (1) describes comparative analysis of 22 matched normal kidney-Wilms tumour pairs which identified biomarker differentially methylated regions (DMRs) that could be detected in patient blood; (2) describes comparative analysis of 20 matched trios which identified changes in methylation associated with progression from the precursor lesion towards tumourigenesis.

Microarray analysis of PIN lesions from APT121 mouse prostate

Project description:High grade prostate intraepithelial neoplasia (HGPIN) is a precursor lesion for prostate cancer. The APT121 mouse is a model of early stage prostate cancer that develops PIN lesions that progress to adenocarcinoma over a period of 6 months. At 12 wks of age APT121 mouse prostate contains mostly high grade PIN lesions. We compared the transcript profile of RNA from the anterior prostate of age- and genetic background matched wild type and APT121 mice using Affymetric microarrays.

Delineating mechanisms of immune evasion in lung carcinoma in situ

Project description:Background: Lung carcinoma-in-situ (CIS) lesions are the pre-invasive precursor to lung squamous cell carcinoma. However, only half progress to invasive cancer in three years, while a third spontaneously regress. Molecular profiling techniques have identified marked differences between progressive and regressive lesions. Here we present laser-captured stromal tissue, adjacent to previously profiled CIS lesions, to examine the role of the tumour microenvironment in spontaneous lesion regression. All samples in this dataset are paired with matched CIS lesions in dataset GSE108082.
