Ancestral hybridisation facilitated species diversification in the Lake Malawi cichlid fish adaptive radiation

ABSTRACT: Whole-genome sequencing variant call data of 41 haplochromine cichlid fish, aligned to the tilapia reference genome Orenil 1.1 (GCA_000188235.2), as described and analysed in Svardal et al. 2020 Molecular Biology and Evolution (DOI: 10.1093/molbev/msz294). The submitted VCF contains biallelic SNP calls. Filtering described in Svardal et al. Materials and Methods, sample metadata available in Svardal et al. Supplementary Table 1.

Project description:Streptococcus agalactiae (Lancefield’s group B Streptococcus, GBS) is a major bacterial species of genus Streptococcus and has medical and veterinary importance by affecting mainly humans (Maione et al., 2005; Johri et al., 2006), cattle (Keefe, 1997) and fish (Mian et al., 2009). The GBS is the most important pathogen for the Nile tilapia, a global commodity of the aquaculture sector, causing outbreaks of septicemia and meningoencephalitis (Hernández et al., 2009; Mian et al., 2009). This study aimed to evaluate the global abundancy of proteins among the main genotypes of GBS isolated from fish identified in Brazil using a label free shotgun liquid chromatography-ultra definition mass spectrometry (LC-UDMSE) approach and to compare the differential expression of proteins identified between isolates from fish and human.

Analysis of gene expression in FACS-purified cortical projection neurons using Affymetrix 430 2.0 microarrays

Project description:3 subtypes of cortical projection neurons were purified by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) at 4 different stages of development from mouse cortex. A detailed description of the data set is described in Arlotta, P et al (2005) and Molyneaux, BJ et al (2009). The hybridization cocktails used here were originally applied to the Affymetrix mouse 430A arrays and submitted as GEO accession number GSE2039. The same hybridization cocktails were then applied to the Affymetrix mouse 430 2.0 arrays, and those data are contained in this series.
