Project description:<p>The THRV-TOPMed study consists of three cohorts: The SAPPHIRe Family cohort (N=1,271), TSGH (Tri-Service General Hospital, a hospital-based cohort, N=160), and TCVGH (Taichung Veterans General Hospital, another hospital-based cohort, N=922), all based in Taiwan. 1,271 subjects were previously recruited as part of the NHLBI-sponsored SAPPHIRe Network (which is part of the Family Blood Pressure Program, FBPP). The SAPPHIRe families were recruited to have two or more hypertensive sibs, some families also with one normotensive/hypotensive sib. The two Hospital-based cohorts (TSGH and TCVGH) both recruited unrelated subjects with different recruitment criteria (matched with SAPPHIRe subjects for age, sex, and BMI category).</p>

Affymetrix SNP array data for Non-Smoking Female Lung Cancer in Taiwan

Project description:Genome-Wide Screening of Genomic Alterations and Transcriptional Modulation in Non-Smoking Female Lung Cancer in Taiwan Sixty-one pairs of cancer and normal lung tissue specimens from non-smoking females were collected at National Taiwan University Hospital and Taichung Veterans General Hospital. The selection criteria of clinical specimens depend on pathology report, physical examination and cigarette-smoking history. Surgical lung tissue specimens were immediately snap-frozen in liquid N2 and stored at -80 °C. Surgical specimens would be further processed for RNA and DNA extraction. Only those samples passed quality controls were processed for gene expression profiling analysis and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis respectively.

Project description:This microarray dataset contains 51 triple-negative breast cancers, 25 normal breast tissues, and 106 luminal breast cancers (reanalyzed data from Series GSE24124, GSE9309, and GSE17040). Keywords: Expression profiling by array Specimens of breast cancer tissue were collected and snap-frozen from breast cancer patients who had surgery between 1995 and 2008 at National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH, Taipei, Taiwan). Clinicopathological information was obtained for all breast cancer patients along with informed consent. The AJCC/UICC TNM system was used for breast cancer staging classification.
