Exploring the genetics of MIS-C and African ancestry using WGS

ABSTRACT: The pathogenesis of MIS-C is unknown; however, human monogenic predisposing factors have been proposed as the cause. We performed whole genome sequencing (WGS) on 45 MIS-C cases and 15 healthy SARS-CoV-2 exposed children from South Africa and identified 30 rare candidate variants that may contribute to MIS-C.
