Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: A fair number of samples for Tibetan Mastiff were typed without one of the known FGF5 alleles in dogs. Analysis of the coding region of FGF5 revealed 4 possible new alleles in the same regions as known alleles. These were show to iinhrit in a Mendelian fashion and likey causal for the long hair phenotype in the majority of the Tibetan Mastiffs tested.
