Transcriptomic response of erythrocytes to hypoxia in temperature- acclimated Atlantic salmon
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Hypoxia and temperature stresses are often encountered by fishes and their interaction is well documented for a wide range of species. We aimed to characterize how temperature acclimation affects the global gene expression in erythrocytes during hypoxia and reoxygenation. We acclimated Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) to 8 °C and 15 °C for 3 weeks and exposed them to acute hypoxia and reoxygenation. RNA was extracted at different times (1, 6, 12 hours, and 12 hours of reoxygenation) and RNA-seq analysis performed.
ORGANISM(S): Salmo salar
