Transcriptional analysis of resting or inflamed murine Macrophages with Immune complex stimulation

ABSTRACT: We wished to investigate differential effects of stimulation with immune complex on colonic macrophages taken from mice which were either healthy or had DSS induced colitis. Overall design: 4 samples from resting mice, 8 from mice which have DSS induced inflammation. After extraction of macrophages from the colon half the samples were treated with OVA and half with OIC.

Inflammatory bowel disease is a chronic, relapsing condition with two subtypes, Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) in UC implicate a FCGR2A variant that alters the binding affinity of the antibody receptor it encodes, FcγRIIA, for immunoglobulin G (IgG).
