Genome-wide methyl-cytosine competition by DNMT and TET


ABSTRACT: We define distinct methylated elements that recruit both DNMT3A/B and TETs. We also show the genome-wide activity of DNMTs and TETs. Overall design: We performed WGBS for a series of HUES64 and HUES8 human embryonic stem cells: wildtype (WT), DNMT3A and DNMT3B double knockout (DKO), TET triple knockout (TKO), TKO plus DNMT3B knockout (QKO) and QKO plus DNMT3A knockout (PKO). We also performed bulk RNA sequencing.
