Real-time quantitative PCR analysis of human Vastus Lateralis muscle biopsies

ABSTRACT: Vastus Lateralis muscle biopsies were obtained before and after the training protocol from 6 healthy elderly male people. We chose custom TaqMan low density array cards (Life Technologies) preloaded with 48 selected genes related to the following pathways: myogenesis, apoptosis, protein anabolism/catabolism and antioxidant enzymes to quantitate their gene expression in human skeletal muscle.
