ABSTRACT: We uncover a pivotal role for ESRRB in demarcating ESC-specific enhancer units, and propose that ESRRB’s developmentally-regulated extinction precipitates their decommissioning with impact on the rewiring of the pluripotency transcriptional programme upon embryo implantation.
