The site and nature of terminal bronchiolar destruction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

ABSTRACT: Previous studies have reported progressive reductions of terminal bronchioles in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Based on micro-CT and Microarray profiling, this study determines the exact site of terminal bronchiole reduction and begins to investigate the gene expression patterns associated with the reduction in COPD.
