Immune gene signatures in oropharyngeal cancers are associated with inverse prognosis by HPV-status

ABSTRACT: In this study, we used RNA sequencing to identify and validate immune gene signatures for OPSCC to classify tumors as hot and cold. Finally, we assessed the prognostic impact of hot and cold immune gene signatures by HPV-status. The ‘hot’ immune signature was associated with a good prognosis in HPV-positive patients and contrarily, a poor prognosis in HPV- negative patients.
