Cytoplasmic mRNA decay represses RNAPII transcription during early apoptosis

ABSTRACT: We report that a majority of RNAPII transcripts are transcriptionally downregulated during early apoptosis, prior to the fragmentation of the genome that occurs during the late stages of programmed cell death.
