The mechano-biological microenvironment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: GelMA hydrogels of different stiffness (5% and 7.5%) provide a microenvironment capable of directing not only pancreatic cancer cell growth but also stiffness- and matrisome-related gene programs. BxPC-3 and PANC-1 cells were chosen for this analysis as representative epithelial and mesenchymal-like cell lines respectively. Transcriptomic signatures of GelMA-embedded cells were compared against those of cells cultured in commonly-used collagen hydrogels (Col).
