The effects and underlying mechanisms of mutated hepatitis B virus X gene on the development of hepatocellular carcinoma

ABSTRACT: The groups with the highest tumor incidences, M3-HBx and Ct-HBx, were involved. WT-HBx and empty vector mice served as the control group. In total, 12 tissues of Sleeping Beauty mice models were involved in microarray analysis, including 3 liver tissues from the empty vector group,3 liver tissues from the WT-HBx group, 3 tumor tissues from the M3-HBx group, and 3 tumor tissues from the Ct-HBx group. The samples were randomly selected from each group.

Responses to DNA vaccine against H5 virus in spleens of Rosa 1 chickens

Project description:Laying hens Rosa 1 were immunized with two doses of DNA vaccine, based on the hemagglutinin (HA) DNA from H5N1 virus, in comparison to the control group, which was administered an empty vector (pCI). Additional groups of Rosa 1 hens were treated with one dose of above described vaccine or empty vector. Gene expression changes in the spleens of chickens were investigated at 7 day post last vaccination dose.

HepG2 cells were infected with either recombinant HBx adenoviruses (AdHBx) or control adenoviruses (AdEasy). Seventy-two hours later, infected cells were exposed for 30 seconds to UVC (254 nm) irradiation with a germicidal lamp calibrated to deliver 8 or 16 J/m2. Cells were then harvested for either ChIP-chip profiling or expression microarray profiling.
