RNAseq analysis of blood from patients with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MISC)

ABSTRACT: RNAseq analysis of RNA extracted from blood of febrile controls and MISC patients Overall design: RNA was extracted from blood of 13 febrile controls and 12 MISC patients. Library construction was performed using the SMARTer Stranded Total RNA-Seq Kit v3. Sequencing was performed on the NovaSeq 6000 (Illumina) using 2x50 bp sequencing.

Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) manifests as a severe and uncontrolled inflammatory response with multiorgan involvement, occurring weeks after SARS-CoV-2 infection.
