Staged suppression of microglial autophagy facilitates remyelination by enhancing the production of linoleic acid

ABSTRACT: Demyelinating lesions are often accompanied by the activation of autophagy biological processes, which are mostly related to microglia. But the underlying mechanism is elusive. We show that inhibition of autophagy in the early and late stages will have different effects on the remyelinating process of demyelinating lesions. In addition, the results of metabonomics as well as transcriptome and metabolic combined analysis showed that CLA (Conjugated linoleic acid) may play an active role in the process of remyelinating.
