ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects of macrophage cell fusion and multinucleation, we have sorted mononuclear and multinucleated macrophages from 3 types of polykaryons: osteoclasts, foreign body giant cells (FBGCs) and Langhans giant cells (LGCs).
