Effect of olanzapine and aripiprazole supplemented diet treatments on gene expression of WT and PTP1B KO mice liver
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Aripiprazole and olanzapine are atypical antipsychotics used mainly for schizophrenia treatment. Despite their advantages, they produce endocrine and cardiometabolic side effects. To understand their impact on the development of metabolic diseases, we compared the gene expression of liver samples from treated and untreated mice. Because PTP1B deficient mice are protected against insulin resistance and obesity induced through the diet, we also compared the gene expression of treated PTP1B KO Vs WT mice to understand if PTP1B deficient may confer protection against these antipsychotics metabolic side effects.
