SEP3 Tetrameric Complexes Promote Flower Development
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Being able to tetramerize has dramatically expanded the functional diversity of the MADS transcription factor family in plants. A key MADS, SEPALLATA3 (SEP3), functions as a "glue", mediating tetramerization with other MADS TFs. Here, we use a SEP3 tetramerization deficient mutation, SEP3tet, which decouples SEP3 tetramerization and DNA-binding activities to study the significance of tetramerization in target gene regulation.
