Project description:This dataset investigates the spatial organization of a human mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma using single-cell resolution spatial transcriptomics. The dataset comprises 22 fields of view from a primary tumor specimen profiled using the CosMX Human 1K panel. Gene program activity scores were estimated using gene programs previously identified from single-cell RNA sequencing data. Local malignant cell density, defined as the fraction of neighboring cells classified as malignant, was quantified and analyzed in relation to gene program activity to assess spatial associations within the tumor microenvironment.

Proteome profiling of mucinous and non-mucinous colorectal cancer

Project description:Mucus is associated with poor prognosis of colorectal cancer, but its mechanism remains unclear. The aim of this study was to reveal the key proteins in mucinous colorectal cancer. In this study, high-resolution liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS / MS) combined with quantitative 6-plex tandem mass mass tag labeling was used to profile protein changes in the left and right sides of mucinous and non-mucinous colorectal cancer tissues. A total of 7432 proteins were identified and analyzed.

Gene expression data of non-mucinous colorectal cancers to support to identify molecular characteristics of mucinous colorectal cancer

Project description:Mucinous adenocarcinoma (MuC), a subtype of colorectal cancer (CRC), exhibits distinct molecular features and a poorer prognosis compared to non-mucinous CRC (NMuC). Standard CRC treatments often fail to address MuC's unique characteristics, especially in stage II, where the benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy is unclear. Biomarkers that improve risk assessment and guide personalized treatment are needed. Based on RNA-seq data and Cox regression models, we developed a signature reflecting the characteristics of MuC which showed a strong prediction ability and clinical utility in both MuC and NMuC. Our signature represents a valuable tool for predicting recurrence and guiding personalized treatment in CRC.
