Real-time quantitative PCR analysis of Nrf2, HO-1, IL-6 and VEGF-A genes in human retinal pigment epithelium (RPE-19) cells

ABSTRACT: Human RPE-19 cells were treated with either Trolox (50 µg/mL), lutein (10 µg/mL) or gac peel extracts (0-200 µg/mL) for 12, 24, 48 or 72 h before being exposed to 500 µM H2O2 for 24 h prior to RNA collection. Results were presented as the fold change compared to untreated controls ± SEM (n=3), different letters indicated statistical significance at p≤0.05 between different treatments (Analysis by One-way ANOVA with Turkey’s LSD test).
