Project description:Genome-wide DNA methylation was studied to identify regions with extreme inter-individual variability, half of which show stability within-person, and some of which show covariation with body mass index consistently and are located in or near genes previously implicated in regulating body weight or diabetes. We isolated genomic DNA from non-immortalized lymphocyte samples from participants of the AGES Reykjavik Study and hybridized it to custom-designed NimbleGen microarrays (CHARM arrays).

Project description:N=134 human liver samples from morbidly obese patients and healthy controls were analysed by array-based mRNA expression profiling. Liver messenger RNA expression datasets from the German patients were generated on the HuGene 1.1 ST gene array The purpose of the study was to correlate these gene expression data with body mass index and with an epigenetic measure of age acceleration based on DNA methylation data. The liver samples come from subjects whose body mass index ranged from 14.8 to 70.2. Ages varied between 10 and 85. This dataset is part of the TransQST collection.

Project description:Recent advances in high throughput sequencing methodologies allow the opportunity to probe in depth the transcriptomes of organisms including N. caninum.
