Gene expression data by the leaves of Eriobotrya japonica (Ej) on the LPS-stimulated human gingival fibroblast

ABSTRACT: The leaf of Eriobotrya japonica (Ej) has been used for a long time as an oriental medicine to treat pulmonary inflammatory diseases. This study investigated the gene expression changes by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation in the cultured human gingival fibroblast and the gene expression changes by the leaves of Ej when challenged with LPS using a microarray chip.

Project description:The Artemisia iwayomogi (Ai) has been known to inhibit the inflammatory cytokine production and the allergic reactions, and has been used to treat liver diseases. This study investigated the gene expression changes by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation in the cultured human gingival fibroblast and the gene expression changes by the Ai when challenged with LPS using a microarray chip. Gene expression microarray data by Moutan Cortex Radicis (MCR) in the LPS-stimulated human gingival fibroblast

Project description:The Moutan Cortex Radicis (MCR) has been used as an analgesic, sedative and anti-inflammatory agent. This study investigated the changes in gene expression by MCR treatment when stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in cultured human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) and the gene expression changes by the MCR when challenged with LPS using a microarray chip. Human gingival fibroblast were divided into three experimental groups; 1, C: Control, 2, LPS: LPS-treatment only, 3, MCR40: LPS- and MCR40-treatments. Total RNA was isolated from each experimental fibroblast (3 experimental group M-CM-^W 1 sample of each experimental group = total 3 samples).

We have shown that treatment of rice leaves with Xoo LPS induces callose deposition, reactive oxygen production and enhances resistance against subsequent infection by the pathogen. We have performed transcriptional profiling of rice leaves that are treated with Xoo LPS to identify differentially expressed genes.

Project description:All samples were gathered from mouse RAW 264.7 cells (macrophages). Control total RNA was extracted from untreated RAW 264.7 cells cultured for either 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 48 hours. Test total RNA was extracted from lipopolysaccharide (100ng/ml) and lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (100pM) treated RAW 264.4 cells cultured for either 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 48 hours.
