ABSTRACT: To investigate the effects of mitochondrial perturbation in osteosarcomas, we cultured cells in 10 mM galactose media which forces mitochondria to use oxidative phosphorylation to compare with standard culture in glucose media accompanied in some cell lines by additional drug treatments that further modulate mitochondrial function (cycloheximide, metformin) or are chemotherapies known to involve the mitochondria (ONC201, ONC206 Clp proteases.
