Analysis of androgen receptor signaling in human neuronal cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Androgen signaling through the androgen receptor (AR), a ligand-dependent transcription factor within the steroid receptor superfamily, plays an important role in brain development and maintenance of neuron activity. However, a key unanswered question is the mechanism through which AR-mediated gene expression leads to these effects. To gain further insight into the mechanism of AR action in human neuronal cells, we identified AR-binding sites in human neuronal cells, SH-SY5Y (SS5) using ChIP-seq (chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with sequencing).
