Single-nucleus profiling of the left ventricle of the mouse heart after chronic stress
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: It is widely believed that stress and heart disease are related, but the exact mechanisms remain debatable. The Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress (CUMS) paradigm can generally be regarded as an effective animal stress model, as it better simulates the stress frequently experienced by humans and prevents animals from adapting to a specific type of stress. To systematically understand the transcriptomic changes in cardiovascular stress-induced injury and lay the foundation for subsequent research on diagnostic and therapeutic targets, we further characterized the mRNA expression profiles of all cardiomyocytes in the left ventricle of mouse hearts using single-nucleus transcriptomics on the 10x Genomics platform.
